Introduction
Chapelford is an estate built on part of the former RAF Burtonwood airbase. The street names all have an American feel to them, including Boston Boulevard, Manhattan Gardens, Dallas Drive, Santa Rosa Boulevard and Chicago Place, to name just a few. Work continues on developing the estate, which began in 2001.

The estate includes a school, supermarket, health centre, Chapelford Farm Pub, Warrington West railway station and a large open space in the centre called Dakota Park. Close by is Mary Ann Meadows green area.
Dakota Park
Dakota Park was opened in 2012, but, as one resident pointed out when I first visited the site, the World War Two aeroplane featured in the entrance stonework isn’t actually a Dakota. See Peter’s Gallery for an image of a Dakota. If you can identify the type of plane at Dakota Park, please Email me.

Mary Ann Plantation
Mary Ann Meadows is a wooded area named in memory of the main repair depot of RAF Burtonwood, Mary Ann Site.

Warrington West Railway Station
Warrington West station is located alongside Chapelford village on the former Cheshire Lines Committee line between Liverpool and Manchester. It was opened on 16 December 2019 and, at the time of writing in 2024, there are two trains per hour in each direction.
The first six images were taken of the construction by my friend Kenny O’Dea on 25 August 2018.

The remainder were taken by me on 17 December 2019, the day after the station opened to the public.
